Helen started her legal career as a trainee legal executive with a large multi-office regional law practice in Staffordshire, where she later qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives. Keen to further her legal knowledge and career, Helen took a career break to return to University and qualified as a solicitor in November 2001.
During her time in practice, Helen specialised in personal injury litigation including high value road traffic accident cases as well as EL and PL cases and assisted with solicitors’ negligence cases. For the past four years, Helen has specialised in risk and compliance work with an outsourced provider of services to the legal profession where she headed up the audit team.
She has specialist knowledge and expertise in assisting firms with file reviews enabling them to gain the maximum business benefits from this now mandatory requirement. Since the introduction of outcomes focused regulation, she has taken a keen interest in the development of the Code of Conduct as well as the role and responsibilities of the COLP. Helen is a qualified Lexcel Consultant.
