The country’s leading conveyancing search aggregator, ETSOS, has announced that it has been awarded the Legal Eye Quality Standard.
With its fundamental commitment to helping law firms tackle their compliance challenge, ETSOS believes that it should be able to evidence its own robust processes, systems, partnerships and staff training.
Managing director Phil Natusch explains: “To demonstrate our own awareness of the risk-ridden environment we operate within, we thought it only appropriate to have our own standards and procedures validated by an external quality mark. As Lexcel and CQS apply to law firms only, the Legal Eye Quality Standard was our available benchmark and I’m delighted with our award.”

Legal Eye Quality Standard
Jaunita Gobby realised that there was a need for a recognised quality standard for firms within the legal services market other than solicitors, and set about working on the Legal Eye Quality Standard, which was launched at the back end of 2012.
Suitable for solicitors, licensed conveyancers and providers of legal information services throughout the UK, the Legal Eye Quality Standard is the first assessment scheme to address those rules and regulations which are over and above the traditional quality standards. The standard includes:
- The E-Commerce Directive
- The Bribery Act 2010
- The Equality Act 2010
- Referral and Fee Sharing arrangements
- Publicity requirements
- TCF (Treating Customers Fairly)
Jaunita explains: “The quality standards out there do not individually meet all of the required elements and regulations that are required. We believe this leaves firms exposed to significant financial, reputational and insurance risks. This quality standard is also available to licensed conveyancers and providers of legal information services which is great for them. It recognises their proactive approach towards best practice and risk management.”
